Arlington Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man accused of peeping under a bathroom stall at the Aurora Hills Library last week.
According to police, a woman was using the restroom at the library around 11:43 a.m. on Monday, August 19, when a man entered and allegedly looked under her stall. The woman quickly left the restroom and exited the building. By the time officers arrived, the suspect was gone. Police say they searched the area but couldn’t find him.
Surveillance footage captured images of the suspect, who is described as a Black man in his 40s, about 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds. He was wearing a green hoodie, a black hat, and white shoes.
Investigators say the man may have spoken with other people while at the library. They’re urging anyone who may have seen or interacted with him—or who recognizes him from surveillance—to contact Detective C. Oesterling at 703-228-4241 or coesterling@arlingtonva.us.
The incident is being handled by the Arlington County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit.
This isn’t the first time inappropriate behavior has been reported in public restrooms around Arlington, and the police are hoping to close this case quickly with help from the community
