At approximately 4:57 p.m. on May 26, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business and collected merchandise during which he was confronted by two employees. The suspect then allegedly brandished a knife, made threatening statements and exited the store without payment. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and a responding officer located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of the Pentagon City Metro. The suspect was noncompliant, and with the assistance of an additional arriving officer, he was taken into custody. During the course of the investigation, a knife and the stolen merchandise were recovered. Derrick Taylor, 44, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Robbery and Obstruction of Justice. He was held without bond.
