At approximately 6:11 p.m. on August 27, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered the business, allegedly collected merchandise and exited without payment. Loss prevention personnel confronted the suspect outside the company, and while attempting to detain her, the suspect struck the loss prevention personnel. A struggle ensued, during which the responding officer arrived and tried to detain the suspect, during which she was noncompliant and attempted to flee the scene. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody. No injuries were reported. Zaira Lowe, 18, of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with Robbery and Obstruction of Justice.
