At approximately 3:04 p.m. on January 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly entered the business and engaged an employee in conversation before collecting merchandise and attempting to exit without payment. The employee then confronted the suspect who then struck the employee before fleeing the scene on foot. The employee sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. A lookout was broadcast and a responding officer located the suspect in the area and issued commands which he disregarded and ran from the officer. The officer subsequently took the suspect into custody. Jaleed Begemann, 21, of Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged with Robbery and Obstruction of Justice. He was held without bond.
