At approximately 5:53 p.m. on February 8, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise and approached the counter to purchase other merchandise. The suspect then jumped over the counter and stole cigarettes. When confronted by an employee, the suspect made threatening statements and attempted to strike the employee before fleeing the scene on foot. The employee sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing a green hoodie under a red jacket, jeans, black and white shoes, a black backpack and sunglasses. The investigation is ongoing.
