At approximately 2:24 p.m. on May 29, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect entered a business, concealed merchandise, implied he had a weapon to an employee and exited the store without payment. At approximately 6:16 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of N. Glebe Road for the report of a larceny in progress. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect entered a business, broke a display and began to conceal merchandise before being confronted by an employee. The suspect attempted to exit the store, during which a struggle ensued between the suspect and the employee over the stolen merchandise. Responding officers took the suspect into custody on scene and determined he matched the description of the earlier robbery. Maurice Cox, 43, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Robbery (x2) and Destruction of Property. He was held without bond.
