At approximately 4:14 p.m. on August 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery just occurred. The preliminary investigation indicates the male victim was walking in the area when the suspect approached him from behind and allegedly tried to steal the victim’s cell phone from his hand. The suspect then assaulted the victim, stole his phone and fled the scene. A responding officer located the suspect at the intersection of Fort Myer Drive and Wilson Boulevard and took him into custody. The victim declined medical treatment and his cell phone was recovered. Dion Fitzgerald, 40, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Robbery and Obstruction of Justice.
