Police responded to a robbery by force at a business located in the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive on the evening of September 16. The incident occurred around 10:48 p.m. when a male suspect entered the store and took cigarettes from behind the counter without attempting to pay.
As the suspect attempted to leave, an employee confronted him. In response, the suspect physically struck the employee before fleeing the scene on foot with the stolen merchandise. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area, but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a Black male, approximately 35 to 40 years old, around 6 feet tall, wearing a black hoodie and cream-colored pants.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the local police department.
