An alleged shoplifter turned violent at Pentagon City on December 5, assaulting a store employee during a robbery attempt before being apprehended nearby.
Police were called after a male suspect reportedly entered a business, gathered merchandise, and left without paying. When confronted by an employee, the suspect assaulted the staff member and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.
Responding officers broadcast a lookout and soon located the suspect in a nearby parking garage. After a brief foot chase, the suspect was taken into custody.
Carlos Henderson, 21, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
