Robbery Suspect Arrested After Knife Display at Pentagon City Store

A Washington, D.C., man is facing multiple charges after police say he displayed a knife while fleeing a shoplifting incident at a Pentagon City business.

According to Arlington County police, the suspect entered the store, selected merchandise and attempted to leave without paying. When confronted by Loss Prevention personnel, he allegedly displayed a knife before running from the business.

Responding officers searched the area and located a man matching the suspect’s description inside the Pentagon City Metro Station. Police said the suspect resisted officers as they attempted to detain him before he was taken into custody.

During the investigation, officers recovered a pocketknife. Police also determined the suspect had allegedly stolen merchandise from the same business on July 13.

Donnell Sheck, 31, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with Robbery, Obstruction of Justice and an additional count of Petit Larceny related to the earlier theft. He was held without bond.
