Robbery Turns Arrest on Clarendon Boulevard

Location: 2800 block of Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington VA
Time: Approximately 10:09 a.m. on April 7

A routine morning at a Clarendon Boulevard business took a frightening turn when a man allegedly carried out a robbery using what appeared to be a knife. According to police, the suspect entered the store and initially engaged an employee in conversation about purchasing merchandise.

The situation quickly escalated when the man reportedly displayed the weapon and made threatening statements before taking merchandise and fleeing on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Officers quickly responded and broadcast a lookout for the suspect. A short time later, an officer located an individual matching the description near Wilson Boulevard and North Herndon Street. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Shawn Williams, 28, of Farmville, Virginia, was arrested and charged with robbery and being drunk in public.
