Screwdriver Threat During Shoplifting Leads to Robbery Arrest on S. Glebe Road

An armed robbery unfolded outside a business on S. Glebe Road when two suspects attempted to shoplift. After collecting merchandise and exiting the store without paying, they were confronted by an employee. One suspect reportedly brandished a screwdriver in a threatening manner before both fled on foot.

Police issued a lookout and located the suspects near Columbia Pike and S. Glebe Road. One suspect, a juvenile male, was charged with Shoplifting and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. The second suspect, 18-year-old Benjamin Hale of Alexandria, VA, was arrested and charged with Robbery. He is currently held without bond.
