Stabbing Reported on N. Stuart Street in Arlington

A violent altercation inside a residence on N. Stuart Street led to a serious stabbing incident Tuesday evening, according to Arlington police.

Officers were dispatched around 8:32 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. When they arrived, they learned that the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute between two men who were known to each other. The situation escalated when the suspect allegedly produced a knife and struck the victim multiple times.

The injured man managed to escape the residence and ran from the scene before calling police. Responding officers located him near the intersection of N. Stuart Street and 11th Street N., suffering from multiple lacerations. Officers immediately provided aid until medics arrived and transported him to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, prompting officers to set up a perimeter and search the surrounding area, though initial efforts did not locate him. Later, the suspect turned himself in at the Office of the Magistrate, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Kelly Holmes, 53, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He is currently being held without bond.
