Two women walking along the Washington and Old Dominion Trail had a frightening encounter Sunday evening when a teenage male allegedly brandished a firearm at them.
According to police, the victims spotted the suspect on the trail before he displayed the weapon and fled on foot. Officers quickly responded and located an individual matching the suspect’s description nearby. He was taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation, authorities recovered a firearm with an altered serial number. The juvenile now faces multiple petitions, including brandishing, carrying a concealed weapon, firearm possession by a juvenile, altering a firearm serial number, and wearing a mask in public. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
