Teens Charged After Back-to-Back Robberies in South Arlington

Two robberies just minutes apart rattled a South Arlington neighborhood on April 23, ending with police making quick arrests.

It all started around 3:15 p.m. near the 5100 block of 7th Road S and S. Florida Street at 8th Road S. A teenage boy was outside when two suspects, described as teenage males wearing ski masks, approached him and demanded money. When he refused, they assaulted him and ran off. The boy suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

While officers were searching for the suspects, another call came in: just a few blocks away at S. Danville Street and 8th Road S, two more teenage boys were reportedly robbed. This time, two male suspects, matching the earlier description, and a female accomplice demanded cash and fled on foot.

Officers canvassing the area soon spotted a male and a female matching the descriptions. They were taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, police also recovered suspected narcotics.

Police filed juvenile petitions against the male suspect for multiple charges, including:

  • Malicious Wounding by Mob

  • Two counts of Robbery

  • Attempted Robbery

  • Wearing a Mask in a Public Place (twice)

  • Two counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony

  • Possession of Marijuana by a Person Under 21

The female suspect, identified as 18-year-old Hillary Pineda Hernandez of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges.
