VEHICLE TAMPERING: 1500 block of Arlington Boulevard Arlington VA

At approximately 2:58 a.m. on August 10, police were dispatched to the report of individuals breaking into parked cars in a parking lot. Upon police arrival, the suspects fled the scene on foot. A perimeter was established, and two suspects were found hiding nearby and taken into custody. Items located with the suspects include an unserialized 9mm “ghost” gun loaded with nine rounds of ammunition, a window punch device, and a claw hammer. The investigation determined the suspects allegedly entered three vehicles and attempted to steal one of them by tampering with the ignition. Noel Sanchez, 19, of Alexandria, VA, was charged with Attempted Grand Larceny of a Vehicle, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Tampering with a Vehicle, and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. Nixon Menjivar, 18, of Alexandria, VA, was charged with Attempted Grand Larceny of a Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Tampering with a Vehicle, and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny.
