Location: 200 block of N. Glebe Road, Arlington VA

A late-night robbery at a business on N. Glebe Road turned violent when an alleged shoplifter attacked an employee, causing them to fall to the ground and sustain minor injuries. Arlington Police responded to a report of a larceny in progress and determined that the male suspect had entered the store, concealed merchandise, and tried to leave without paying.
When an employee confronted him, the suspect reportedly struck the worker, leading to the victim’s transport to a local hospital for treatment. Officers canvassed the area immediately but were unable to locate the suspect at that time.
The investigation led police to identify the suspect as Burchell Peters, 34, of Arlington, VA. He was apprehended the next day, January 24, in the 300 block of N. Piedmont Street. Peters was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Robbery. He is being held without bond.
