An assault in public escalated when a female suspect allegedly spat on two police officers after targeting a stranger.
Police were called to the area of N. Lexington Street and Wilson Boulevard after a female victim reported being spat on by another woman who fled the scene on foot.
Officers located a suspect matching the description nearby and took her into custody. While in custody, the suspect allegedly spat on two officers.
Katherine Claffey, 30, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement and one count of Assault and Battery.
